Solid Overview

Solids are Tinkercad's internal representation of 3D shapes. The functions available on the Solid object are used to convert between shape representations. Note that valid Solid objects can't be constructed using the new keyword. Instead you can create Solids using the Solid.make() and Solid.extrude() methods. Once a Solid object has been made from paths or meshes, its contents can't be edited. However the solid can be transformed in space using a transformation matrix - see the transform() method below.

Solid3D extrude (param, height)

Takes paths from the passed in array or Sketch2D instance and extrudes them to produce a solid
  • param: Array [ Path2D ] or Sketch2D - A specific subset of Path2D objects or an entire Sketch2D.
  • height: Number - The height for extrusion.

Solid3D make (mesh)

Takes a Mesh3D object and converts it to a solid representation. You must call this function to produce a valid Solid object that can be the return value of the script's process() function.
